Threshold is % of peak gradient; hysteresis is the weaker cut, as % of it, that a pixel may sit at while still joining a contour it touches. Lower hysteresis joins more, at the cost of noise. Auto weight thickens sparse art — a garment inks ~2% of the tile against terrain's ~16%, and thin lines vanish at 300px.
